The holiday season is in full swing and whether you’re hosting big holiday parties, or just having a few family members over, you’ll want to make sure your home is ready. The last thing you want is to be calling for emergency service during a party.
Home Holiday Checklist
- All things plumbing. Test flush your toilets, especially if you have a guest bathroom toilet that doesn’t get used often. Remind guests not to flush feminine products down the toilet. And avoid putting fibrous foods down your garbage disposal and keep the water running for longer than you think you need to, ensuring the food passes through your system.
- Is your water heater ready? If you haven’t had your water heater flushed in the last year or so, now’s the time. Especially if you have guests staying for a longer period of time. Nothing is worse than a full house with no hot water!
- Don’t be like Clark Griswold. If you’re decorating your home, utilize GFCI outlets outdoors and don’t plug all your cords into one outlet (that goes for inside AND outside).
These simple steps can save you a lot of headaches during the holiday season. Not to mention give you peace of mind with a full house!
