I have had 4 Black Diamond workers in my home over the past 2 years or so, and the experience has been fantastic. Just recently I had Nick Caruso, who is a comfort consultant, to give me an estimate on a new furnace and a.c.. The first thing Nick noticed when he entered my utility room where the furnace and water heater is, is that the water heater had a bad pressure release valve. The unit was leaking and Nick also stated that the pressure tank was installed incorrectly, probably causing the pressure relief valve to go bad. This was my second water heater in 16 years and that pressure tank was installed incorrectly for as long as we have owned our home. In both cases, the water heater leaked in the same manner. Nick came out for the furnace and a.c. quote but the water heater seemed to weigh on his mind through the process. He made a phone call and told me he could have a new water heater in that same day. I thought that was amazing, no waiting for a unit to come in, wow!!! I had a new commercial grade water heater installed that night with new lines and a new pressure tank. I will comment on that process shortly, but back to Nick Caruso. I couldn’t have picked a more knowledgeable professional, friendly and caring person to come into my home and offer advice on our new furnace and a.c. Plus Nick himself was an HVAC installer himself for years before accepting this position with Black Diamond. That was huge piece of info for me, as I like people who have put their time in on the job as oppose to just reading or learning about a trade through a class. I think hands on experience is crucial into making a great representative. The wife and I purchased a new furnace and a.c. after listening to Nick and taking in all his knowledge. The furnace and a.c. was installed a week later. They sent two men out to put in my furnace and a.c. One guy worked the furnace inside while the other worked the a.c. outside. They were both typical Black Diamond associates. Extremely knowledgeable in their trade, friendly, respectful and just absolutely excellent people. I never ever mentioned once to any of them not to wear shoes on my carpet and whenever they had to come upstairs on my carpet they both had shoe coverings on to protect my flooring. Furthermore, they lay down tarps and drop cloths in the area they will be traveling and working in to protect your flooring. Luv this about Black Diamond, they always seem to care about the homeowner!!! Now back to the water heater. The same night Nick discovered the bad pressure relief on the existing water heater, Black Diamond had a plumbing technician come out and replace the old water heater with a new commercial grade 40 gal gas water heater and pressure tank. The plumbing technicians name was Juan, I never ask a last name because it is really not my place. As usual, another fantastic experience with a Black Diamond technician. Juan was awesome!! Just flat out awesome!! I kept asking him if he needed any help getting out the old unit and bringing in the new unit because of the tight space it was in. Juan always graciously declined, and he just man handled these water heaters like they were nothing. Couldn’t have met a nicer and more knowledgeable plumber. I never heard a negative word come from this guy, he just worked until the job was complete! Afterwards, Juan gave me some great advice and even went so far as to run me through the process of draining or flushing the new unit so I can get maximum life out of it. This was because I was very honest and upfront with Juan when I told him I never drained the water heaters ever. He gave me 2 extremely good reasons to do so that even regular person can wrap their head around. Oh, and after the installation, Juan told me that the old pressure tank was filled with black water. Those tanks should only have basically air in them, so that tank was probably bad when I had my 2nd tank put in 6 years ago by Sears. Thanks Sears, lol. Sometimes you get what you pay for!! Thanks Black Diamond, for all the professionalism, knowledge, friendly and caring technicians you’ve sent my way over the years!! I won’t have any other company out to my house unless Black Diamond doesn’t work whatever area I need. If Black Diamond services it, they are my company of choice and for life!! Hands down!! I woke up this morning to a very cold house. Unfortunately I don’t already have a “Furnace Guy” that I usually call. So I made 2 calls to local HVAC companies before calling Axberg. The first one said some thing like “We can get someone today, but it will be after 4 pm which is overtime, so there will be an extra charge” The negative response to my call made me feel like I was troubling them, and that I would be silly to pay the extra fee to have them come out, so I declined. My next call was answered by a machine, so I hung up. I couldn’t take a chance on wasting time waiting for a callback. My call to Axberg was answered by a very helpful voice. She indicated that she would get someone to me as soon as possible, but they were very busy with the cold weather, so it might be between 5 -7 pm. I agreed but about an hour later I was surprised to received a call letting me know Ryan would be knocking on my door within 45 minutes or so. I found Ryan to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and I had heat again within the hour. I could not have asked for a better experience. The price of the repair was very reasonable. During the repair process, Ryan was able to answer all of my “layperson” questions concerning my furnace and gave me some ideas of how to get the most from my furnace to heat and cool my home. I was impressed by the fact he put the shoe coverings on upon entering the house, his tools were all kept clean and orderly and he seemed to have all the special tools he needed to maintain my furnace. I am very happy to have chosen Axberg to service my furnace today!!

When the company called us, they had 2 package options. For a $698.00 water heater they want to chat get us $1,000 MORE for delivery, installation and warranty. Needless to say, we declined. I did my research and BDP had the best reviews so I decided to take a shot in the dark. I’m glad I did. I called BDP around noon, the had someone in the area so within the hour they were here. By 4:00 we had a new water heater. Rick was here within the hour, he was professional and awesome as were the other men who came to help with the installation. My only “negative” is that I requested the break down of the quote Rick said he didn’t know. I didn’t see anything in my email regarding a quote. The only way I knew the break down on the quote was when I received my invoice via email. I think that the breakdown should have been provided with the quote and reviewed again when providing the invoice for payment. The price was in our budget and the service was great! The previous owners were not tidy and, judging by the condition of the kitchen and air intakes, they used to fry almost all of their food. To this end we decided to not only clean our air handling system and take this opportunity to use the aeroseal process to help with some heating and cooling inefficiency. The Aeroseal crew arrived as scheduled and ready to go to work. They were polite and explained their plan of the day so that we knew exactly how and when things would occur. While I believe most people think of “air duct cleaning ” is a quick scam, this company is anything but! They spent 10 hours, not your typical hour a half cleaning. The second day, was a 12 hour day “sealing” our vents with a vinyl polymer. This prevents the tiniest of leaks coming out of the ductwork, therefore improving efficiency. My home feels cleaner and smells cleaner. I have severe asthma and this has made a huge difference in my health. The staff was extremely prompt, professional, and courteous. First I have ti say all of the BD folks who came out were friendly, competent, knowledgeable and identified the problem within minutes. We have had them out 3 times in the last month (all for different pieces of equipment) and they were great. The first time they performed a complete diagnostic on the system and replaced one valve. They gave me a list of what still needed repair or attention. The second time we had a bad wall plate on the thermostat. Again diagnosed within minutes. They spent 15 minutes for 165.00. The last time the furnace went out and it was diagnosed within minutes. The part itself was very pricey. I checked online. But they charged 165 to drive to the next town over to pickup the part since they didn’t have one on the truck.. Shouldn’t parts include shipping and handling?

Recently, after installing a new entryway chandelier for our home, it became apparent that the chandelier (which I purchased online) was faulty. Ultimately, I did not have to experience the trouble of repacking the fixture, communicating, and navigating a “large item” return. I was profoundly thankful that he was able to repair it and save me from the extreme aggravation. Furthermore, Gerad made suggestions for installing just the right chandelier bulbs to create a dynamic and dramatic entryway through our front door! As we continue to update our home, a basement refinishing project is underway. Additionally, we will be installing several ceiling fans and adding a “whole house” generator. In all the years that we’ve had our sewer rodded, I have NEVER been charged such an outrageous price. I realize the added cost because it was emergency service and late on a Saturday night, but to charge $450 to rod and then another $350 to take a toilet off that took less than five minutes…RIP OFF! Then not to point out after spending $850 that there is no warranty because he couldn’t rod far enough out to the main sewer and then say yeah I can tell you where the clean out station is after I rod, and then say oh no I can’t because my camera is too “flexible” and won’t bend…REALLY?! TOTAL RIP OFF! Don’t waste your money on this company. They take advantage of people’s vulnerability in a time of their desperation. Now we know how they’re paying for all those radios ads…it’s at our expense! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
